Exchanger Industries Celebrates Safety Successes

Calgary-based heat exchanger manufacturer Exchanger Industries Limited is celebrating two key milestones for the company’s safety record. Last month (October) Exchanger Industries was named Canada’s Safest Manufacturing Employer at the prestigious 2021 Canada’s Safest Employers awards. Two weeks later the company marked seven years without a lost-time accident. That’s over 1.6 million working hours without a serious incident.

Commenting on the double-success, Gavin Exon, Exchanger Industries’ Vice President, Operations, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the business and recognizes our cultural focus on safety throughout the whole business. Although everyone plays a key role when it comes to safety, I have to recognize the roles of our Safety Manager Susan Goebel and Senior Manager of Manufacturing John Eddy who have helped instill safety at all levels of the business.

“We manufacture very large and very heavy equipment, our processes involve cranes, working at height, welding and hot work, all of which are inherently dangerous. Having our safety record and procedures recognized by an independent third party reinforces what we are doing every day and is a great boost as we celebrate 60 years in business.”
